In 2000, South River EMC established the Power Source Volunteers, or PSV. The PSV is a group of volunteers who work on behalf of the Cooperative as goodwill ambassadors in the community to enhance South River EMC's ongoing public relations efforts. Each year they hold fundraising events which benefit students in the South River EMC service area through scholarships, as well as hosting giveaways, such as food baskets, to members.
The Volunteers are comprised of a member representing directorate districts within the Cooperative's service area. The members of the Power Source Volunteers are; Richard Barnhill; Betsy Williams; Sandy Spears and Rebecca O'Dell. Julie McLeod is the cooperative representative in the group.
Each year the Power Source Volunteers looks for ways to help fellow members out each year.
If you would like more information about the Power Source Volunteers, please call South River EMC at 910-892-8071 or e-mail an inquiry to sremc@sremc.com.
