Gwen B. Price and Katie Bunch Scholarships

Students attending the Electric Cooperative Youth Tour are eligible to win the $2500 Gwen B. Price Scholarship and the $2000 Katie Bunch Memorial Scholarship. These scholarships are awarded annually at the North Carolina Electric Cooperative's Annual Meeting of Members in Raleigh.

These scholarships were established by the North Carolina Association of Electric Cooperatives Volunteers' Committee to aid young people who have limited financial resources and have exhibited outstanding scholastic and leadership abilities in their quest for a college education.

Kesler Butler Memorial Scholarship

The Kesler Butler Memorial Scholarship is a $1000 annual scholarship for students who attend North Carolina State University. The student must be a member, or child of a member, of South River EMC. Interested students should complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid at www.fafsa.ed.gov. For additional information, contact the Office of Scholarships & Financial Aid at NC State University.

Electric Cooperative Youth Tour Scholarship

South River EMC offers a $1,000 scholarship to each student who attends the Electric Cooperative Youth Tour as a representative of the Cooperative. As the tour is open to both rising juniors and seniors, we will award scholarships during the students' senior year, once he or she has been accepted and committed to a college. That means rising seniors will be contacted in the year following their youth tour trip, and rising juniors will be contacted two years after their trip, to provide necessary information. We will keep the contact information provided by each student attending, if any information changes, please be sure to let us know so that we may update records.
