To help protect the health of consumers and employees, South River Electric Membership Corporation has closed both offices and recommends that electric cooperative members take advantage of remote service and payment options.
“We are making every effort to protect our members, our employees and their families from the coronavirus,” said Catherine O’Dell, VP of Member Services and PR. “We are providing employees the option to work from home, encouraging members to use our alternate services and providing greater payment flexibility.”
South River EMC encourages members to consider using the following options:
ONLINE: Members can pay bills or request service online at www.sremc.com. All administrative fees are waived for online service requests through April. They can start service, stop service, move service and request outdoor light repairs all from our web site under the service options listing. Required documents can be emailed to mydocs@sremc.com.
BY PHONE: Members can pay bills by credit card or check through the automated system by calling 910.892.8071 and pressing “1”. They can also speak to a member services representative at any time.
DRIVE-THRU: Members who choose to pay their bill with cash, credit or check can use a drive-thru option at each office or pay at a 24-hour-payment kiosk under the drive-thru canopy at each location. South River EMC offices are located at 17494 US Hwy 421, Dunn and 6491 Ramsey St., Fayetteville.
“We are providing more leniency for those who need additional time to pay their electric bill to avoid service disconnection,” said O’Dell. “Any member who is at risk of a disconnection of service due to non-payment, and needs additional time, should call the office and request an arrangement. We have lifted our restriction on the number of arrangements through May.”
South River EMC electric consumers are encouraged to submit inquiries through email. Questions regarding electric service should be directed to billing@sremc.com and general questions should be sent to sremc@sremc.com.
“We appreciate everybody’s cooperation and hope that by taking measures to operate remotely, that we can all help to slow the spread of COVID-19,” said O’Dell.
South River EMC is a locally-owned and operated electric cooperative, which provides electric service to nearly 45,000 homes, farms and businesses in parts of Harnett, Cumberland, Sampson, Johnston and Bladen counties.
