South River EMC is offering at least one $1,000 and two $500 college scholarships for the 2019-2020 school year. There’s never a better time to apply.
must live in a home, which receives electric service from South River EMC. Factors considered in granting scholarships included: character, moral standards, citizenship, past and present academic performance, letters of recommendation, statements of career goals and qualifications and extra-curricular activities.
Also, candidates must have a recommendation from either his or her high school principal, guidance counselor or teacher. Non-traditional students, i.e. dual enrolled, December graduate, or homeschooled, must provide a letter from their work supervisor, advisor, or community member.
A complete transcript and SAT or ACT scores are required. Applications are due to the Cooperative office by Friday, January 25. Applications being mailed must be postmarked BEFORE this date.
