Rates Effective With May 2025 Billing
The changes will be in both the Grid Access and Energy charges. However the Equalizer, a temporary measure used to recover unexpected increases incurred by the Cooperative, has been used to offset these costs and we hope with the rate change implemented to discontinue the Equalizer.
Grid Access is a monthly fee that helps recover the costs associated with maintaining and operating cooperative infrastructure such as power lines, transformers, substations and meters.
The Energy charge covers the cost of purchasing electricity from our power supplier.
There are several factors for this occurrence, which include:
- Increases in all aspects of business, especially materials.
- Growing need for more facilities at a higher cost.
- Cost of Power
- Sustained high interest rates.
